What to Expect in Your Perfect Loop Interview
Hello! If you're reading this it's likely you have an upcoming interview with a Perfect Loop talent advisor. Here are a few thoughts on what you can expect and how you can prepare.
The goal of our call
As a recruiting service, our job is to help companies connect with job candidates who are highly relevant to their open position. This can mean any number of things but generally we are recruiting candidates for specific skills, experiences, and demonstrated behaviors, i.e.: delivering results or diving deep.
We like to be upfront that our primary goal in our initial call with you is to determine whether you have what our client is seeking (more on this below).
That said, our goal as a company is to help people find jobs they'll love and excel at. We think of an interview with Perfect Loop as a first conversation in that process. That's why we take detailed notes and try to learn enough about you and your career goals that we can be helpful in the future, even if the role we're talking to you about today is a fit.
What we'll talk about
A first interview with Perfect Loop will focus on diving deeper on your past experience. To do this we'll ask for more detail about specific past experiences as well as more open-ended behavioral interview questions where you can choose a work example to discuss.
To help us have a productive call we recommend being prepared to walk us through past work experiences that are relevant to the type of position you've applied for. We understand that you don't yet know much about the company or specific job yet -- don't worry! -- take a look at our behavioral interview questions and pick examples you're most proud to talk about!
In addition to learning about your past experience, we want to know about your career goals and what you're looking for in your next position.
What you can expect from us
When our call begins we'll start by giving you a brief overview of who we are and what we do. We keep this short and sweet because we want to use the bulk of our time to get to know you.
Once we've told you about ourselves, we'll dive right into the interview. This will be the bulk of our time. We'll focus on two general areas: 1). Your past experiences and behaviors, and 2). What you want to do in the future.
After our interview, we'll tell you more about the position, the client, and why we think you are or are not a fit. In either case, we'll discuss next steps and what you can expect from Perfect Loop going forward.
We'll also be happy to provide you quick feedback on any aspect of the interview such as the work examples you provided, your communication, etc.
Tips on preparing
There are two keys things you can do before your Perfect Loop interview to prepare:
- Take a look at our behavioral interview question bank as you think about which work examples you might share. We use the STAR method of behavioral interviewing so being able to clearly and concisely convey your work experiences in the Situation, Task, Action, and Result format means we'll be able to cover a lot of ground and give you a better assessment of how you fit with what our client is looking for.
- Be open and ready to discuss your career goals and what you're looking for in your next role. This will help us have a transparent conversation about the ways in which a position may or may not fit what you're looking to do.
